Workshop Chronicle week 15: The Flying Thing

Several weeks before the start of the boating season.

A partially assembled drone appears on the workbench.Silence.Everyone stares.
Lil Red:”What is that?”Mr. Green:”Week three.”Proto White:”Of what?”
Mr. Green:”The drone project.”Miss Violet:“Week four, actually.”Lil Red:”It’s still here?”
Big Blue:“It’s growing.”Proto White:”Can projects do that?”The Frame:“They can in this workshop.”
Another box of drone parts appears the following weekend.Lil Red:”Oh come on.”Mr. Green:”Week five.”
Yellow Jacket:”Has anyone seen the boats lately?”Miss Violet:“We are the boats.”Yellow Jacket:”You know what I mean.”
The drone gains motors.Proto White:”That seems excessive.”Big Blue:“It has four.”
Lil Red:”I still don’t have one.”Mr. Green:”Correct.”Lil Red:”Just checking.”
Another weekend passes. The drone gains electronics.Another box arrives.
Yellow Jacket:”Boating season starts soon.”Big Blue:“He knows.”Yellow Jacket:”Does he?”
Mr. Green:”Evidence is inconclusive.”Miss Violet:“The lake has not seen us in months.”Proto White:”Maybe we’re a drone club now.”
Long silence.Lil Red:”Don’t say that.”Big Blue:“Don’t even joke about that.”
The Boss finally places a finished FPV drone on the bench.Everyone stares.More silence.
Proto White:”So it flies?”Mr. Green:”That appears to be the objective.”Lil Red:”And now?”
Big Blue:“Now we wait.”Yellow Jacket:”For what?”Big Blue:“The first crash.”
